Good afternoon GBC, 

I hope you get to enjoy the Sun and some ice-cream today! 

Midweek Meditation- A Prayer for My Mouth 

O Lord, I yield my mouth to you. 

Since you know my thoughts before they become words (Psa. 139:4), restrain the thoughts which should remain silent, and filter the ones I speak. 

In a blaze of slander, help me avoid both the fire and the fuel (Prov. 26:20). Where there is a war of words, help me be a healer, not a warrior (Prov. 12:18). 

Open my ears to truth before I open my mouth (Prov. 18:13). 

Help me speak aware that Christ listens (James 5:9).

May the stability of the gospel and purity of grace be heard when I verbalize my heart (Matt. 12:34).

Keep me from speaking the truth without love and keep from speaking about love without truth (Eph. 4:15).

Since Christ has done all for my building up, keep me from words which tear down (Eph. 4:29).

Amen.

 

Ministry Prayer Requests 

• Pray for our collective submission to God the Spirit, that we may preserve the bond of peace. 

• Pray for those winding down on school, that they would yield their time and selves to Christ this summer. 

 • Pray for our GBC widows. Ministry Reminders 

• Don’t forget we are back to our Wednesday night inductive studies for “Family Church.” It’s at 6:30 on Wednesdays through the summer! We are studying 1 John together. 

• Tis the season for graduations! Pay close attention to the bulletin.
